This ride started and went well until about the last 20 miles...at that point it went downhill very quickly. Riding into a headwind, on top of the high heat and high humidity, and just really bonked. I just melted in the heat and apparently should have eaten something before I left. I struggled badly just trying to turn the pedals and averaged about 13mph the rest of the way. I just couldn't recover and was very glad when I finally got home and could get off the bike. This is easily my most troubling ride in a number of years. Live and learn. :)
