A very long ride for a weekday morning jaunt. And there seemed to be a conspiracy against me this morning...I over slept my one snooze (7 minutes) so I quickly got up and got moving. Only to take my bike outside as I usually do to find that it was raining lightly. A quick trip to the NWS site showed that it was a fluke and was gone by the time I finished getting ready to go. So off I went until on Bear Ridge before Irish I hit a small pothole which wasn't too bad except one of my bottles popped out of the cage and disappeared. Slowing down and then circling back I was able to quickly locate it of the road laying in a driveway. Beyond that things went well and I continued to ride well. At the turn around before climbing back up the escarpement I was averaging 18.85mph. But the climb crushed that back to 18.18mph before I regained most of it on the long trek back home. |
