The Record Gallery Returns!

Sweet - Desolation Boulevard
The Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Music From The Penguin Cafe
David Bowie - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars
The gallery has gone virtual….

I originally started this topic while working at Nexserver.  It was the best place I've ever worked -and I've worked a lot of places in the past several years!  Anyhow, I had some of my albums hanging above my desk.  I've still got the all of my albums, but the job long since evaporated.  I miss them, but I've decide to bring the gallery back as strictly a virtual creation.

Sweet - Desolation Boulevard
A 1975 release and the very first (LP) album I ever owned!  I recall quite well that this was present from the Easter Bunny when I was in sixth grade.  And I'm guessing my brother remembers it also as I played it over, and over, and over, and over…  Anyhow, here's a pretty good review that sums it up pretty well.

The Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Music From The Penguin Cafe
Released in 1976, I'm not exactly sure when I acquired it.  My recollection would be somewhere in the 1979-1981 time-frame.  A somewhat ambient sort of album, I knew nothing about PCO when I purchased it.  I took one look at the cover and decided it looked interesting and worthy of my hard earned cash.

David Bowie - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars
When this album was released on June 6th, 1972 I was not quite 7 years old and as such, I'm guessing it was another 2-3 years since I "discovered" this album.  Another album I consider to be such a sonic masterpiece that I own a Half-Speed Mastered audiophile pressing.  "Ziggy Played Guitar".
