A Flock Of Seagulls
The 1982 debut by A Flock Of Seagulls. Quirky synth-pop with some good guitar riffs. I played this album to death when I first got it. And I can put it on today and enjoy it just as much! The first single "I Ran" got way over played in typical radio fashion, but it certainly spread the word.
Men At Work
Their 1982 debut that I purchased at the same time as A Flock Of Seagulls. This also got played a lot, but not quite as much. This was more straight ahead pop music, but with a fairly distinct sound. This is an album that got filed away after a while because once again, radio played it to death until you don't want to hear it.
Missing Persons - Rhyme and Reason
Released in 1984, this album the follow up to breakout Spring Session M album. This album is a bit softer on the edges, but it definitely showcases the amazing musical talent of the musicians in this band. Missing Persons was a lot about style, but I don't think most of the people who listened to them really appreciated their incredible abilities. Further proven by the amount of very good music these guys have individually put out since then.
