This peanut needs to get out more

Another strange and rather pointless site on the internet (sort of like this one I guess).  Welcome to This Peanut Looks Like A Duck.

50 States in a Week’s Vacation

This is sort of an anti-Way Too Much Time entry; Actually it's more of "Not Nearly Enough Time" entry.  Here's a guy that did a 50 States in a Week's Vacation back in 1998.

This comes to me via Alan…who needs to update his PolarBlog installation so I could just trackback to his entry instead!  ;)

Waiting for a PS3?

From the "I guess I'm getting really old department"…

Can someone please explain to me why anyone would camp-out in line to buy a gaming system?  This time around it's the new PS3.  This isn't the first time for this sort of nonsense as I recall the same stupidity surrounded the Xbox360 when it came out.  It's not like they are only going to be a limited number of them made.  Do you really need to be the first kid on the block to have one?

I guess I might be able to cut some slack to those that are going to buy them and then resell them on Ebay to make a buck.  I hope it's worth the effort for you.  Actually I can respect that more than those who are waiting just because they want one.  And even more pathetic are the fools who are going to way over pay for it by being one of the buyers of those that are going to show up on Ebay.

In short, get a life people.  It's a game.  Wait until after the first of they year when they will likely be widely available.  And if not, wait some more.  It's not like you're going to perish without it.  In the meantime, turn off the TV and go outside.  It's a wonderful place, this world we live in.

— Update —

Shortly after I wrote this Shredd and Ragan got sick of the nonsense too.  So instead of giving away the last PS3 they had, they sent it over the falls.  :)

Model Cruise Ship

It's been a long time since I've posted a "Way Too Much Time!" entry, but this definately qualified…

Meet François Zanella and his scale model of the Majesty of the Seas.  Actually this is pretty amazing, but I have no idea why one would do this.

Roadkill is animal cruelty?

I guess if you intentionally run over an animal with the intent to maim or kill it, then yes that would be animal cruelty.  (This reminds me of a story, but it will have to wait for another time.)  But Roadkill Gummi Bears?  This isn't animal cruelty, this is tasty fun!

Apparently Kraft, in weak, spineless corporate conservatism has caved in and is yanking these off the market.  Why can't a company just once stand up and say "It's a joke people!  Laugh it's funny!"  Whatever happened to good old fashion corporate greed?  You're throwing money away here.

The Waiting Man

Meet Jeff Tweiten.  Jeff joins us today under the "Way Too Much Time!" topic because Jeff really, really needs to get a life.  You see, Jeff is waiting for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.  Sure lots of die hard fans are waiting for the next installment in this once great movie series.  But most people are rational and will wait until the movie is actually in theaters before they start waiting in line for it!  Apparently he waited 3 months for Episode II: Attack of the Clones.  Gee, I bet that was really worth it.  Kind of makes you wonder whether this would be better posted under my "Darwin's Work" topic instead!

Mario Sheet Music

Someone who calls himself "The Blindfolded Pianist" has painstakingly written out the sheet music to Super Mario Brothers.  Need I say more?
