Apparently this attempt at working out was completely misguided.  I still need to get a battery to fix my HRM.  And today I found I have moderately slow leak that only allows me to ride for about 5 minutes before I have to re-inflate my tire.  Guess that's going to need to get fixed before I can workout again.  This ride was more like the cyclist's biathlon, inflate, ride, stop, inflate, ride, stop...
