The morning started out well with relatively warm calm weather. About halfway a few sprinkles, a bit further a light rain for a few minutes. Then a bit further on it started again...and progressed to a steady rain...and then some thunder and lightning. That really was just one minor blast, but the steady downpour continued. Fortunately it was warm enough that this really didn't affect my riding at all and I just kept right on rolling.
Today was a big improvement over yesterday, but a rest day is definitely in order for tomorrow. That works well because, well it's supposed to rain! ;) Interestingly enough I thought there was only a very slight chance for rain this morning, but it seems they updated the forecast later in the evening and I wasn't aware of it.
I really don't mind riding in the rain other than the mess it makes of my bike. Of which, during cleaning it up I see my rear tire has a sidewall gash and is headed for a blowout. This is disappointing as these tires aren't that old, but new ones are now on order. In the meantime I likely will put an old one on for safety sake. |
