Stolen Image Payback

Yesterday I found that "Master THRak" had stolen the logo from my THRAK Football Enterprises page.  Which actually, I don't have a big problem with, except he's using image from my site instead of copying it to his.  Thus this eats into my bandwidth —granted to a very minor degree, but nonetheless it's better to have copied it.

So what to do?  My inital thought was to grab a copy of something like Goatse.cx (That's a Wikipedia link, not the image.) and substitute that for the logo.  But being the nice guy that I am, instead replaced it with this stupid I love britney image instead.  Thus he now has a big "I (heart) Britney" on his page instead!  ;)

So "Master THRak", if you're reading this and you want this image, please just steal a copy and don't pull it from my site.  I would have sent you a message about it, but the lame ass MySpace service requires you to register to do anything thus you got this instead.

Despicable Software

Looking at my referral logs and found this despicable software.  Nothing like a company that survives by spamming blogs.  You guys suck and I can only hope your company fails miserably, leaving you deep in debt.  Unfortunately I'm guessing there are lots of fellow scumbags out there that who are eating up your vile spamming tool.

PolarBlog RSS Feed Issue

Yesterday I was informed of a RSS encoding problem when you set your encoding to anything other than ISO-8859-1.  This appears to be being caused by the third-party FeedCreator class ignoring the user setting and always using the default setting.  Additionally I believe I've found a minor content type problem, but that's a much lesser concern.

That's the bad news.  The good news it that I believe I've solved the problem.  This may go out a bug fix release this coming week, but at the moment I know of only one use that was having an issue with this so my inclination is to sit on it and instead work on the next release.  I know there are other international users, so if you use RSS and are having feed encoding problems contact me (kevinp AT polarlava.com) and I can send you the fix directly.  As I write this I've sent this to the user who was having the problem, but he has not confirmed that this fixes this issue —I believe it does.

If there are enough request for it I will package up a release and send it out.
